North Kildonan Montessori is an independent preschool conveniently located in the North Kildonan neighborhood at 1115 Roch Street.

North Kildonan Montessori is a multi-age school comprised of children ages 2 ½ - 6 years of age and provides an 8:1 student-teacher ratio with a maximum school size of 40 students.

The multi-age school ensures that your child is able to progress at his or her own pace in both social/emotional and academic areas, and that each he or she can act as both a teacher and a learner in the classroom. Therefore, allowing your child to learn at the pace most comfortable for him or her without the pressure of competition.

The physical space of the school is approximately 3,000 square feet and is scaled to the child’s size to facilitate easy movement in the classroom. The fully functioning child sized kitchen will allow your child the opportunity to participate in authentic practical life lessons.

Your child will have the opportunity to learn through experience with the use of concrete Montessori materials. Carefully selected Montessori classroom apparatus will cultivate your child’s innate need to touch, to see, to hear, to smell and to explore.

Classroom interaction with peers will help your child to develop social skills through play, singing, sharing, music and movement and observation of others. In all areas of the Montessori curriculum, your child will be guided to learn and achieve in an environment that is supportive, nurtures creativity, personal achievement and independence
